As part of LinC Lage Landen 2024-2025*, we conducted research for DEN** on digital transformation and digital skills in cultural organizations. Mattanja Schottanus, Coen van Ham, Marieke Sikkens, and Karolien De Clippel joined forces to investigate and assess this issue, resulting in a research report and game.

As a cultural organization, you want to grow in many areas of quality, sustainability, and diversity, but also in digital transformation. To concretely develop this success, a game has been designed to gradually grow towards a digital future: the “serious game.” This game helps your organization grow in this transformation. Step by step, you’ll reflect on your future and how to get there. What do you want to achieve? What needs to happen? And how can you or your team help? The game consists of six key steps: location, action, talent, idea, core, and goal. By completing these steps, you’ll discover where your organization stands, what drives it, and what is needed for digital growth. This way, you’ll quickly gain new insights and results.

*LinC Lage Landen is an intensive year-long program for leaders in the cultural sector, organized by Utrecht University in collaboration with Antwerp Management School. This year-long program concludes with an essay (for me, the book “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”) and an intervention in which you research and question a current topic, and design an intervention.
